In NinjaTrader, go to Tools → Options → Hotkeys. You will find both the Win Ruler and Loss Ruler listed as drawing tools. Assign any keyboard shortcut to each — most traders use something like W and L, or two function keys, for the fastest possible access.

When you set a tick override value in the ruler's properties panel, the tool ignores the price distance between your drawn entry and exit points and instead uses your stated tick count to calculate everything — ticks, points, and dollar PnL. This means you can place the ruler quickly without worrying about precision, then correct the numbers in one field after the fact.

If you chart on the NQ mini but trade the MNQ micro, the point value per contract is different. Set the point divider to 10 (or whatever the correct ratio is for your instruments) and the PnL shown on the ruler will reflect the micro contract value rather than the mini. This means you can mark trades directly on the mini chart without any manual conversion.
